In the 1994 hit Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Shah Rukh Khan, and Suchitra Krishnamoorthy portrayed the roles of Sunil and Anna with great finesse. But according to Suchitra, Shah Rukh’s ability to excel in the character stemmed from his ability to envision his wife, Gauri Khan, while delivering romantic lines to her. This added a layer of authenticity and intensity to his performance, allowing him to truly bring his best to the role.
After getting married in 1991, Shah Rukh and Gauri quickly resumed their work. Shah Rukh went back to making movies. One of the films he worked on was Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, where he played the role of Sunil, a hopeful and innocent guy who falls in love with a girl and tries different methods to win her heart. During an interview, Suchitra Krishnamoorthy, his co-star, revealed that Gauri would often visit the film set. As a result, Suchitra ended up talking more to Gauri than to Shah Rukh.
According to Suchitra, she had more conversations with Gauri than with Shah Rukh during the filming of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. She said wo mujhe nahi dekh rahe the, wo Gauri ko dekh rahe the. Isiliye wo expressions sab itna masoom, itna real tha..it was all so real. (He wasn’t looking at me, he was looking at Gauri. That’s why his expressions are so innocent, so real.) Suchitra also mentioned that she felt Shah Rukh would look at her as if he was looking at Gauri because they had recently gotten married. This, she believed, brought out a sense of innocence and sincerity in his acting.
This year in February, Shah Rukh Khan celebrated the film’s anniversary by revisiting his role. He shared a tweet about it. “At that stage…in that age…..raw….uncontrolled…craft still undefined….surrounded by the best cast & crew in India and a director who I miss every day! Taught me that sometimes u lose the moment….but win everything else…I am sure somewhere, some world Sunil did too!” he tweeted.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Upcoming Film
Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Jawan is scheduled for release on September 7. The highly anticipated trailer for Jawan is expected to be unveiled around July 10. Directed by Atlee, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
