Sunny Deol delivered one of the biggest hits of the year 2001 with Gadar. Co-starring Ameesha Patel, the film follows the story of Tara Singh who falls in love with a Muslim woman during the 1947 India-Pakistan partition. The film was one of the highest grosser of that year. Now, the makers are coming up with its sequel titled Gadar 2, where both Sunny and Ameesha are reprising their roles.
Before its release, Gadar 2 has been generating a lot of buzz among audiences. This is mainly because of the love for the first installment and its huge impact on the viewers. Another reason can be that it marks the return of Sunny Deol in an action avatar after a long time.
Sunny Deol’s Fees For Gadar 2 Is Creating A Buzz
Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma recently said in an interview that Sunny compromised on his fees for the film. He said, We really made an effort to control everybody’s fees. Sunny’s fee is what it is, it’s okay, it’s just one person, but even he compromised quite a bit. These days, heroes and directors charge so much, the budgets end up ballooning up to Rs 600 crore, and sometimes the heroes charge Rs 150 crore and Rs 200 crore.” While Anil did not reveal the exact amount, he said that the film’s budget is much lower than 100 crores.
