Taapsee Pannu is stepping into a new and intense role as she starts shooting for her action-thriller Gandhari by director Devashish Makhija. The actress recently gave fans a glimpse of her first day on set by sharing photos on Instagram.

In these pictures, her back is to the camera as she wears a long skirt, and a red shirt, and has her hair tied with ribbons.
Along with the photos, Taapsee shared a thoughtful message: “Dear God, grant my request so that I may never deviate from doing good deeds. That, I shall have no fear of the enemy when I go into battle and with determination I will be victorious. That, I may teach my mind to only sing your praises. And when the time comes, I should die fighting heroically on the field of battle.”

Gandhari is Taapsee’s sixth collaboration with screenwriter Kanika Dhillon. The two have previously worked together on hits like Manmarziyaan, Hasseen Dillruba, and Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba.
It is an important project for Kanika Dhillon’s production banner, Kathha Pictures, following the success of the mystery drama Do Patti. This action film brings together Kanika and director Devashish Makhija, who is known for his acclaimed films like Bhonsle and Joram.
Taapsee Pannu’s Work Front
Taapsee was last seen in Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba, which was released in August 2024. This sequel continues Rani’s story as she and her husband try to escape the police in Agra.
She also starred in Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer film Khel Khel Mein, directed by Mudassar Aziz. The movie, a remake of the 2016 Italian film Perfect Strangers, features a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, and Vaani Kapoor.
Now, she has Gandhari and also confirmed the next instalment for Hasseen Dillruba franchise recently. It is being said that the next film will be released in theatres instead of a direct OTT debut.
