Taapsee Pannu is set to take on her most daring role yet in the action-thriller Gandhari, and she’s making sure she’s fully involved in the action. The actress has decided to perform all of her own stunts for the Netflix film, marking a major commitment to her role.
According to sources, there won’t be any body doubles used for her intense action sequences, allowing Taapsee to show off her skills on-screen.
Taapsee Plays A Mother On ‘Mission’ In Gandhari
In Gandhari, Taapsee plays a mother on a mission to save her kidnapped child. This will be her first time portraying a mother in a film. The character is described as determined and fierce, diving into a brutal fight to protect her family.
The story focuses on the emotional and physical journey of this mother, who goes to extreme lengths to rescue her child. As part of her preparation, Taapsee has been focusing on her agility to make her fight scenes look more real and raw.
Actress To Performs Stunts On Her Own To Keep It ‘Raw & Real’
A source shared, “Taapsee will be doing her own stunts for action scenes, where she will be seen playing a mother for the first time. Her role is based on a determined mother who is on a mission, and you will also see her bond with her child.”
Netflix recently gave fans a sneak peek of the film with an introduction teaser. In the clip, Taapsee’s voiceover delivers a powerful line: “Kehte hain maa ki dua humesha saath chalti hai, lekin jab uski bachche par aati hai to kaali bhi wahi banti hai,” (It is said that a mother’s blessings are always there with her children, but if anyone tries to harm her child, she becomes Goddess Kaali.)
The teaser has sparked excitement online, with the streaming platform teasing the return of the “Hasseen writer-actor duo” – Taapsee and writer-producer Kanika Dhillon – for this action-packed thriller.
Taapsee Previously Did Action In Naam Shabana & Baby
This is not Taapsee’s first venture into action. She has previously showcased her action skills in films like Naam Shabana (2017) and Baby (2015).
Gandhari marks her second collaboration with Kanika Dhillon, following their successful partnership in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. The film is produced by her own production company, Kathha Pictures, which also backed Kriti Sanon’s Do Patti.
While an official release date for Gandhari is yet to be confirmed, the anticipation is already building.
