Taapsee Pannu is reuniting with director Anubhav Sinha for a new courtroom drama. Seven years after Mulk, the duo is coming together again for a film that tackles important social issues. However, this project is not a sequel, even though it shares similar themes.
Anubhav Sinha Returns To Courtroom Dramas
Anubhav Sinha took a new direction in his career with Mulk (2018). The film (starring Rishi Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, and Prateik Babbar)shifted its focus to socially relevant stories. It marked the beginning of ‘Anubhav Sinha 2.0’ where he made impactful films like Article 15, Thappad, Anek, and Bheed.
Now, a fresh report from Peeping Moon reveals that Sinha is once again exploring the courtroom drama genre. His new film will feature Taapsee in a powerful role. While it has similarities to Mulk, it is not meant to be Mulk 2. Instead, Sinha wants to bring a fresh and compelling story to the screen without relying on sequels.
Taapsee Pannu & Abhubhav Sinha’s Third Collaboration
This marks Taapsee’s third film with Sinha after Mulk and Thappad. The actress, known for her intense performances, will take on another challenging role.
The film also includes veteran actors Manoj Pahwa and Kumud Mishra, who have worked with Sinha before. Casting for other roles is still ongoing, and the film is set to begin shooting in April in Delhi.
Taapsee Panu Has Two Other Projects Lined Up
Before starting this project, Taapsee will finish filming Gandhari, a Netflix action thriller where she plays a determined mother searching for her kidnapped daughter. She also has Woh Ladki Hai Kahan, a romantic comedy with Pratik Gandhi, set to release this year.
