In June 2023, the exciting announcement of Tere Ishk Mein by Aanand L Rai and Dhanush set hearts fluttering, marking their third collaboration after the success of Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re.
However, despite the fervour surrounding the project, approximately 11 months down the line, there’s been a noticeable absence of developments. This has triggered a flurry of speculations regarding its status.
Reports from Peeping Moon state that Tere Ishk Mein is very much in the pipeline, albeit facing a slight delay on the production front.

Tere Ishk Mein Being Delayed Due To Dhanush’s Commitments In Tamil Industry
Sources close to the project attribute this delay to Dhanush’s commitments in the Tamil film industry, which have necessitated a postponement of the Hindi venture.
According to insiders, “Dhanush has several prior commitments down south that he wants to complete before devoting two months to Aanand L Rai’s film. The director acknowledged his concern and has agreed to wait for him. They’re now eyeing to start the film around October–November 2024.”
The production plans involve a two-month, single-phase shoot in Varanasi and other locations across Uttar Pradesh, with a targeted theatrical release set for mid-2025.

Tere Ishk Mein is described as a poignant tale of love, resonating with the same essence as Raanjhanaa, promising to tug at the heartstrings with its romance and myriad emotions.
Dhanush is set to essay the role of Shekhar, an angry young man, with the female lead expected to be finalised by July. Penned by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, the film will feature musical compositions by the maestro AR Rahman.
Dhanush’s Work Front
Meanwhile, Dhanush eagerly awaits the release of his 50th film, Raayan, which also marks his second directorial venture post-2017’s Pa Pandi.
Initially slated for a June 13 release, the gangster drama, starring Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Nithya Menon, and SJ Suryah, now awaits its debut on July 26.
Following this, Dhanush will grace the screens in Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera, a social drama set in Mumbai’s Dharavi slums, alongside Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna.
As for his upcoming projects, Dhanush is slated to begin shooting for director Mari Selvaraj’s next film, followed by the highly-anticipated biopic of music maestro Ilaiyaraaja. Additionally, his third directorial endeavour is also in the pipeline.
