Kangana Ranaut is preparing for the release of Jayalalithaa’s biopic, ‘Thalaivii,’ which she is starring in. The film recently received a ‘U’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on September 10th around the world.
The much-anticipated trailer was released a few days ago. The stars and the team received a lot of accolades from the fans for accurately portraying Jayalalithaa’s life through the various stages of her life. The filmmakers have chosen a theatrical release as a tribute to Jayalalithaa, bringing the icon back to the big screen.
Earlier, national chains had decided not to screen film when makers decided to stream the film on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video after 15 days but and that issue is now resolved. The latest update states that this Kangana Ranaut starrer will see the digital route after running for 4 weeks in the cinema halls.
Thalaivii was supposed to get release in 15 days on digital platforms if the film failed to have a good Box Office run. However, cinemas have forced the filmmakers to sign a contract promising to screen the film only if it is premiered within four weeks of its theatrical release.
For the unversed, the film’s advance booking has been running on peak at the cinema halls. Thalaivii, directed by Vijay, is slated to hit theatres on September 10th, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telegu.
