The wait for the first single from Thug Life is almost over. The film, directed by Mani Ratnam and starring Kamal Haasan, is gearing up for its first music release. AR Rahman is handling the soundtrack, continuing his long-time collaboration with Mani Ratnam.

A video recently surfaced featuring Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, and AR Rahman discussing the song’s lyrics. Fans are already hyped about what’s coming next. The film’s posters and merchandise have also started grabbing attention.

Last month, Kamal Haasan and Trisha Krishnan attended a FICCI event in Chennai. While talking about Thug Life, Kamal played it safe and didn’t reveal too much. He was asked if his character in the film is good or evil, considering the comparisons to his 1987 film Nayakan. Kamal joked that he didn’t want Mani Ratnam calling him out for spilling details.
Trisha then added that even after watching the movie, the audience might not know if the character is good or bad. Kamal agreed & said that good and bad are two sides of the same coin. He pointed out that in Nayakan, people had the same debate about the protagonist and Thug Life explores a similar theme.
This film marks the first time in decades that Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan are working together again. It would be exciting to see what they create this time.
More About The Film
Apart from Kamal Haasan, the cast includes Silambarasan, Trisha, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Abhirami, Nassar, Mahesh Manjrekar and many others. The lineup is packed with powerhouse performers.
Mani Ratnam is directing, while he, Kamal Haasan, R Mahendran, Siva Ananth, and Udhayanidhi Stalin are producing the film. Ravi K Chandran is handling cinematography and Sreekar Prasad is on board as the editor. Anbariv is designing the action sequences, while Eka Lakhani is in charge of costumes.
Thug Life is set for a theatrical release on June 5.
