Kamal Haasan’s fans were treated to a special surprise on his birthday with the release of a teaser for his 234th film, Thug Life. The short but exciting video revealed that the film will hit theatres on June 5, 2025, in multiple languages worldwide.
The teaser was shared by Raaj Kamal Films International, Kamal’s own production company, and is available in Tamil, English, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Although it lasts only 44 seconds, the clip offers a glimpse of intense action and hints at an engaging storyline.
The tagline, “His STORY, His RULES,” sets the mood as Kamal takes the lead in a strong warrior role. It highlights his tough and determined character.

While the teaser doesn’t dive into the plot, it teases a high-energy, dramatic film. Kamal Haasan plays Rangraya Sakthivel Nayakar, a character who blends strength and modern sensibility.
His role promises a gritty figure fighting for survival in a harsh underworld. You can look forward to impressive fight scenes choreographed by Anbariv that highlight Kamal’s action skills.
The teaser also introduces Silambarasan TR, who joins Kamal in the ensemble cast.
About The Film
The film features a stellar line-up, including Trisha Krishnan, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Ashok Selvan, Pankaj Tripathi, Nassar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Vaiyapuri.
Music for the film is composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman, adding to the excitement. Kamal also revealed that the film’s theme song was written in just one hour.
Thug Life marks the reunion of Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam, who last worked together on the iconic 1987 film Nayakan. This marks their first collaboration in over 30 years. The film’s production started in January 2024 and finished in September 2024.
Originally, Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi were part of the cast but were replaced by Silambarasan and Ashok Selvan.
