The much-awaited historical drama Chhava: The Great Warrior, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, is all set to go on floors from October 16 in Mumbai. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the legendary Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Chhava: The Great Warrior is a tribute to the great Maratha warrior and king, who is revered as a hero and an inspiration by many people. The film promises to be a grand and epic saga, that will showcase the history and culture of Maharashtra.
Chhava to start shooting next week
Vicky Kaushal will be seen playing the role of the brave and valiant warrior king, who fought against the Mughal empire and other enemies of the Maratha kingdom. Rashmika Mandanna will be playing the role of Sambhaji’s wife Yesubai.
The film is also a big opportunity for Rashmika Mandanna, who has already made a mark in the South Indian film industry with films like Geetha Govindam, Dear Comrade, and Sarileru Neekevvaru. She will also be seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal.

The film was earlier supposed to start shooting in September, but was delayed due to some reasons. As per the latest media reports, the first schedule of the film will be for a week, and will be followed by more schedules in different locations. The film is all set to go on floors on October 16 in Mumbai.

The film is adapted from the Marathi book by Dr. Jaysingrao Pawar, which chronicles the events and achievements of Sambhaji’s reign. The film will showcase the glory and courage of the Maratha empire, as well as the personal and political challenges faced by Sambhaji.

Chhava: The Great Warrior is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jio Studios, and is expected to release in 2024. The film is one of the most anticipated projects of Vicky Kaushal, who has been undergoing a physical transformation for his role. He has also put many other projects on hold for this film, as he is committed to giving his best for this historical character.
