Vicky Kaushal Speaks Bengali While Promoting Sam Bahadur In Kolkata, Students Chant ‘Sam is here!’

Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal, who is gearing up for the release of his much-awaited biopic Sam Bahadur, visited the Bhavanipur college in Kolkata on Friday and received a huge response from the students and fans.

Recently, the actor visited the Bhawanipur College in Kolkata on Friday where he was seen interacting with his young fans. Several videos from the event surfaced on social media.

Vicky Kaushal receives a grand welcome at Bhavanipur college in Kolkata

The actor, who plays the role of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in the film, was greeted with cheers and fanfare as he entered the campus.

Kaushal, who looked dapper in a grey jacket and black cargos, interacted with the crowd who cheered with ‘Sam is here!’ in response to him saying ‘There will be no more withdrawals’. The actor also impressed the fans with his Bengali skills in one of the clips that went viral. He greeted his admirers from his car in a third video.

Vicky Kaushal Starrer Sam Bahadur’s First Song ‘Badhte Chalo’ Is A Tribute To The Indian Army

The makers of ‘Sam Bahadur‘, the biopic of India’s first field marshal Sam Manekshaw, have released the first song from the film, titled ‘Badhte Chalo’. The song, composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and penned by Gulzar, is a motivational anthem that celebrates the courage and spirit of the Indian Army. The song features Vicky Kaushal, who plays the titular role.

The song showcases Sam Manekshaw as he leads his troops in various battles and operations. The song starts with a dialogue, “Wars padhna mera kaam hai aur unhe jeetna bhi” as he motivates his army men and prepares them for the war. The song also pays homage to the different regiments and units of the Army, by incorporating their unique war cries in the chorus. The song is sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal Dadlani and Divya Kumar, who lend their powerful voices to the stirring lyrics.

Sam Bahadur, directed by Meghna Gulzar, is a biographical drama that chronicles the life and achievements of Manekshaw, who was also known as ‘Sam Bahadur’ to the jawans he led. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra as his wife Silloo Manekshaw, Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, among others. The film’s trailer has been praised for its realistic and gripping portrayal of the war hero.

Kaushal, who made his debut with Bombay Velvet and Masaan, has emerged as one of the most versatile and talented actors in the industry. He has won several awards, including a National Film Award and two Filmfare Awards, for his performances in films like Masaan, Raman Raghav 2.0, Raazi, Sanju, and Uri: The Surgical Strike. He is also known for his endorsements of various brands and products, and his co-hosting and performing at award ceremonies. He is married to actress Katrina Kaif.
