Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra has confirmed that the sequel to his popular film 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3 are in the works. The well-known filmmaker, while promoting his latest release Zero Se Start, gave some exciting details about these upcoming films and his creative process.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra Says THIS About His Upcoming Projects
In a recent interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Chopra shared that he is actively working on the scripts for both 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3.
He shared, “I am writing both 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3. On top of that, I am trying to make a film for kids. The film’s title hasn’t been decided yet. I am also writing a horror comedy, and it is very interesting. First, we will write for 1-2 years, and then it should be made. I think the possibility of 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3 is there soon.”
Chopra also stressed the importance of creating films that truly connect with audiences, rather than focusing solely on the financial success of past hits.
He remarked, “I could have made 2-3 sequels of Munna Bhai and 3 Idiots. Bahut maal kama leta main (I could have earned loads of money), bought a big car and a big house. But if those weren’t good films, I wouldn’t have enjoyed talking about them because I would know that I compromised my conscience just to mint money.”
Along with 2 Idiots and Munna Bhai 3, Chopra is also working on other projects, including a children’s film and a unique horror-comedy.
Filmmaker Recently Released Zero Se Restart On Netflix
Chopra’s latest project Zero Se Start offers a behind-the-scenes look at his earlier film 12th Fail, which became a sleeper hit. The documentary, which premiered at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, shows the journey of making 12th Fail.
Based on Anurag Pathak’s book, the film stars Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar and tells the inspiring story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi. Released on December 13, Zero Se Start gives fans a closer look at Chopra’s creative journey and filmmaking process.
