Hrithik Roshan is currently gearing up for the release of his much-awaited film Vikram Vedha. In the upcoming movie, where he will appear with Saif Ali Khan, the actor will be seen portraying a gangster. The film is an official remake in Hindi of the same-titled Tamil film starring R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. Although the movie is one of Hrithik Roshan’s most anticipated, there are rumors that it will be the most expensive of his career.
According to a BollywoodLife story, the budget for the movie doubled at Hrithik Roshan’s request. According to a source familiar with the project, the writer-director duo Pushkar and Gayathri were eager to finish the movie on a shoestring budget, just like they did with the Tamil movie. Their initial budget was significantly more than the Tamil film’s yet relatively lower than a typical Hrithik Roshan production. Hrithik Roshan reportedly refused to shoot in Uttar Pradesh, thus the producers were forced to double their budget.

The same article claims that the movie’s producers had a schedule set up in UP and that they were eager to film the film in the state’s lanes. They had planned the shoot to have a grimy appearance, much like the Tamil movie. Hrithik Roshan allegedly encouraged the producers to build opulent sets in Dubai to showcase the UP lanes instead of refusing to shoot in the state of Uttar Pradesh. A significant shift in the shooting schedule and the addition of a second set have immediately doubled the budget for the movie.
Vikram Vedha, a Tamil movie, reportedly cost Rs 11 crore to produce but ended up making an amazing Rs 60 crore. That has not been the case with its Hindi version, whose budget has reportedly surpassed that of Mohenjo Daro and War, starring Hrithik Roshan.
Based on the Indian folktale Vikram and Betaal, Vikram Vedha tells the tale of a fierce cop who sets out to find and murder a similarly tough thug. On September 30, the film is expected to be released.
