Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey has announced his plans to step away from acting, leaving fans and the film industry in disbelief. The 37-year-old is known for his stellar performances in 12th Fail, The Sabarmati Report, and Sector 36. He recently shared the update through an emotional Instagram post on Monday morning.

In his heartfelt statement, Vikrant revealed that he plans to retire after 2025. “Hello, the last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor,” he wrote.
He added that his final two movies would release in 2025, marking the end of his acting journey “until time deems right.”

The announcement caught many by surprise, including his The Sabarmati Report co-star Raashii Khanna. Reacting in disbelief, Raashii commented, “What? No!”
Industry peers like Dia Mirza and Esha Gupta also expressed their support. Dia encouraged him and said, “Breaks are best—you’ll be even more amazing on the other side.”
However, Fans are divided over this sudden announcement. While some speculated it might be a marketing strategy for an upcoming film, others wondered if it stemmed from the political backlash and trolling Vikrant has faced.
One fan commented, “Most likely a marketing methodology for an upcoming project so that people will be curious to watch the movie in the theatre.” Another added, “I just hope this is not because of the political pressure.”

Vikrant Recently Opened Up About Receiving Threats Due To The Sabarmati Report
Vikrant has been vocal about the challenges he’s faced, particularly following the release of The Sabarmati Report. In a recent interview, he revealed receiving threats not only for himself but also for his nine-month-old son, Vardaan.
“These people know I became a father recently to a child who can’t even walk yet. They are dragging his name, and I am concerned for his safety. What society are we living in?” he said.
Despite the negativity, Vikrant stood firm and said, “As artists, we tell stories. This film is based on facts, and it’s something we, as a team, are dealing with together. We will handle it the way it needs to be handled.”
Currently, Vikrant is busy filming Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, with both projects set to be released in 2025.
