Kartik Aaryan recently revealed the intense journey he underwent to master swimming for his role in Chandu Champion. Despite being a non-swimmer, Aaryan trained amid high fever, shoulder injuries, and neck pain to look like a professional swimmer on screen.

Kartik Aaryan REVEALS How He Aced Swimming Scenes In Chandu Champion

“I was never a swimmer. I can never imagine myself staying a swimmer,” Aaryan admitted in the video. The footage chronicles his entire swimming journey, from his first lesson to the moment he perfected the Olympic scene for the film. His swimming trainer confessed that Aaryan’s technique and style were far from perfect when he started.

“Training him to look like an Olympic champion was not easy at all,” the trainer said.

The actor’s rapid learning came at a physical cost. Due to the short time frame for learning the sport, Aaryan frequently suffered from shoulder injuries. His physiotherapist mentioned that the actor often needed rehab and ice bath sessions to recover.

Director Kabir Khan praised Aaryan’s dedication, saying, “It was amazing how fast he could learn and make it look like he was competing against these athletes.”

Kartik Aaryan Trained Amid 101-Degree Fever

Even illness didn’t deter Aaryan. He continued training despite having a 101-degree fever. The chlorine in the water also irritated his eyes, requiring constant use of eye drops. “Giving expressions while swimming was also a difficult task,” he added.

When it came time to shoot the swimming scenes, the cast and crew were astonished at Aaryan’s speed, noting he was faster than many professional swimmers. Reflecting on the experience, Aaryan said, “Shooting for the scene was so difficult, which makes me wonder how Murli ji actually did it in real life.”

In the video’s caption, Aaryan expressed gratitude for his trainer: “From a non-swimmer to swimming with all the swimming champions, I have learnt so much in this incredible journey. Big thanks to my trainer @virdhawal for being so patient.”
