However, after the unexpected death of Baba Siddique on October 12, worries about Salman’s safety grew, putting his participation in doubt.
Just a week later, on October 21, it was announced that his cameo had been dropped, leaving fans feeling disappointed and concerned about his role in the Cop Universe.
Surprisingly, Salman suddenly showed up in Mumbai to film his cameo. This surprise brought joy back to fans who were eager to see him back on screen.
The film, Singham Again, had already been submitted for approval to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) before this filming took place. This raised questions about how they could add a scene while the censor process was ongoing.
Singham Again Makers To Submit Salman Khan’s Cameo Scene To CBFC Soon
An insider explained to Bollywood Hungama that there would be no issue with this situation. The certificate for Singham Again is expected to be granted soon. After that, the makers can go back to the CBFC, let them know about the new footage, and request approval.
The original runtime on the censor certificate will not include Salman’s cameo, but an additional certificate will be provided once the new scene is approved.
How Is It Similar To Hrithik Roshan’s Special Entry In Tiger 3
This scenario is similar to Tiger 3, which was released last Diwali. Hrithik Roshan made a special cameo in that film, but the production encountered some challenges as well. The CBFC finished its certification for Tiger 3 on October 27, 2023.
However, after filming Hrithik’s cameo on November 4, the team had to return to the CBFC for approval again, which they successfully obtained just two days later.
Just like Hrithik’s appearance in Tiger 3, Salman’s cameo in Singham Again is expected to be featured as a mid or post-credit scene. This will keep the audience engaged and add excitement to the film, reinforcing the connection between the two films in the growing Cop Universe.
Additionally, the industry source mentioned that the CBFC requires filmmakers to inform them when they add or cut scenes.
For example, the makers of Devara, which stars Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, recently sought CBFC approval after cutting nearly seven minutes from their final version.
