Suriya’s highly anticipated film Kanguva is set to hit theatres on November 14, 2024. Fans have been buzzing about this movie since it was first announced.
The excitement reached new heights with the recent release of the film’s song featuring Suriya and Disha Patani, alongside an intriguing trailer that has kept audiences on the edge of their seats. However, recent reports on social media have raised concerns about potential delays in the film’s release.
Kanguva Theatrical Release & Thangalaan OTT Debut To Get Postponed Amid Legal Trouble?
According to a report from Indiaglitz, producer KE Gnanavel Raja, who heads Studio Green, is facing legal trouble after Reliance Entertainment filed a case against him.
The complaint was lodged in the Chennai High Court concerning an unpaid loan linked to several films. Gnanavel Raja reportedly borrowed Rs 99.22 crore from Reliance for Teddy, starring Arya, and Thangalaan, featuring Chiyaan Vikram. So far, he has only repaid Rs 45 crore.
Reliance has demanded the outstanding Rs 55 crore, claiming that Gnanavel Raja has breached the contract. They have also requested the court to block the theatrical release of Kanguva, as well as the OTT debut of Thangalaan, until the financial issues are resolved. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding this matter from the involved parties.
Makers Os Suriya Starrer Skipped The Initial Date For A Solo Release
Studio Green has reportedly assured the court that Kanguva will not be released before its scheduled date of November 14, and that Thangalaan will also remain off streaming platforms until then. The statements were recorded by Justice Kumaresh Babu, who has postponed the hearing until November 7, offering temporary relief to both parties.
If these reports hold any truth, the legal situation could dampen the excitement surrounding Kanguva. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this film, especially after its release was previously moved from October 10 to avoid clashing with big names like Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rana Daggubati in Vettaiyan.
The decision to go solo on November 14 was seen as a strategic move to ensure the film’s success without competition.
