Pushpa 2: The Rule has set the box office on fire, smashing records and thrilling audiences worldwide. Released on December 5, the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise earned a massive Rs 72 crore on its first day, making it the highest-grossing South Indian film on day one in 2024.
In just two days, Pushpa 2 has earned Rs 131 crore from its Hindi version alone, surpassing the lifetime earnings of the first instalment, which made Rs 106 crore.
Even with an 18% drop on its second day, bringing in Rs 59 crore, the film remains a box office leader. Fans have applauded the film for its gripping story, strong performances, and stunning action sequences, calling it a visual treat.
Pushpa 2 Makers Hold Press Meet In Hyderabad To Celebrate Sequel’s Success
To celebrate this huge success, the film’s makers hosted a press event at the Radisson Blu at 4 pm in Hyderabad. Allu Arjun and the team shared their excitement and gratitude for the film’s overwhelming reception.
The sequel has outperformed its predecessor and is climbing the ranks of Hindi-dubbed South Indian films. With Rs 131 crore nett so far, it has surpassed the 2024 lifetime collections of films like Devara and Hanuman. It now stands as the second-highest grosser of the year, behind Kalki 2898 AD, which earned Rs 295 crore.
About The Film
Directed by Sukumar, the film stars Allu Arjun as the iconic Pushpa Raj, Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil as the relentless cop Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The sequel has been produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, with music by T-Series.
