The actor recently shared an important update regarding a controversial situation involving Telangana minister Konda Surekha. This incident escalated quickly, leading to a legal complaint from his father, Nagarjuna Akkineni.
Nagarjuna Files Police Complaint Against Telangana Minister Konda Surekha
On Thursday evening, Chaitanya took to social media to share a scanned image of a court letter. This letter officially names Nagarjuna as the complainant against Konda Surekha, who made some shocking remarks about Chaitanya’s divorce from Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Here’s What Konda Surekha Had Said!
So, what exactly did Konda Surekha say? During a recent statement, she controversially linked the divorce of Chaitanya and Samantha to KT Rama Rao, a prominent figure in the Bharat Rashtra Samiti.
Surekha alleged that Rao had a history of tapping the phones of actresses to blackmail them. She claimed, “It is KT Rama Rao because of whom (actress) Samantha’s divorce happened… He was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of the actresses and then find their weaknesses to blackmail them… He used to make them drug addicts and then do this… Everyone knows this, Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, his family–everybody is aware that such a thing happened.”
Such incendiary remarks naturally stirred up quite a reaction. However, Konda Surekha later tried to clarify her comments.
In a follow-up statement, she said, “My comments are meant to question a leader’s belittling of women and not to hurt your (Samantha Prabhu) sentiments.”
She added that she admired Samantha’s journey, stating, “The way you have grown up with self-power is not only an admiration for me but also an ideal.”
Surekha ended her statement by retracting her earlier comments, stating, “If you or your fans are offended by my comments, I unconditionally retract my comments. Don’t think otherwise.”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu On Her Divorce With Naga Chaitanya
Samantha Ruth Prabhu also addressed Surekha’s comments, emphasising that her divorce was a “personal matter.”
Taking to Instagram, Samantha stated that her separation from Naga Chaitanya was “mutual consent and amicable,” firmly rejecting any suggestions of a political conspiracy. She urged people to stop speculating about the details of her divorce, making it clear that it was not a matter for public discussion.
The situation escalated further when KT Rama Rao issued a defamation notice to Konda Surekha over her controversial remarks.
In the notice, he stated that Surekha’s comments were aimed at tarnishing his image and demanded an immediate retraction. Let’s see what happens next!
