In Singham Again, we return to the world of DCP Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn), the unyielding cop known for his principles and fierce sense of justice. This time, Singham faces his biggest adversary yet in the form of “Danger” Lanka, also known as Zubair (Arjun Kapoor), a powerful and ruthless terrorist who poses a grave threat to the city. The stakes are personal for Singham, as Zubair targets his family, abducting his wife, Avni (Kareena Kapoor Khan), as part of a twisted plan to break the fearless cop.
Determined to save Avni and put an end to Zubair’s reign of terror, Singham assembles a team of elite officers. Joining him are ACP Sangram “Simmba” Bhalerao (Ranveer Singh), whose comedic charm adds a lighter touch, DCP Veer Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), bringing his seasoned experience to the fight, and SP Shakti Shetty (Deepika Padukone), a fierce and uncompromising cop on a mission. Also aiding in the mission is ACP Satya Bali (Tiger Shroff), a younger but skilled officer eager to prove himself.
The storyline takes on mythological dimensions, drawing inspiration from the Ramayana. In this modern retelling, Singham symbolizes Lord Rama, while Zubair embodies the demonic Lanka, setting up a classic battle of good versus evil. Singham Again: Performances
Ajay Devgn returns as DCP Bajirao Singham, embodying his iconic character with intense screen presence and unwavering resolve. While Devgn brings his usual gravitas to the role, his portrayal lacks the freshness and raw energy that made his earlier appearances so memorable. As the central figure, Devgn shoulders much of the film’s weight, but the limited character development and repetitive dialogues do not allow him to fully explore new dimensions of Singham’s personality.
Kareena Kapoor Khan as Avni, Singham’s wife, adds a layer of emotional depth to the storyline. Her screen time, however, is limited, and her character feels underutilized, primarily serving as a plot device to drive Singham’s actions.
Ranveer Singh reprises his role as the flamboyant ACP Sangram “Simmba” Bhalerao, bringing his signature charm and comedic timing. Singh’s energetic presence and humor add a lighter tone to the otherwise intense narrative. Though as usual, he is overboard at times.
Akshay Kumar as DCP Veer Sooryavanshi brings an experienced, composed element to the ensemble. Known for his action sequences, Kumar executes his role with ease, delivering some intense action moments. Yet, like Singh, he struggles with a poorly fleshed-out role.
Deepika Padukone takes on the role of SP Shakti Shetty, marking her entry into Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe. While her casting was highly anticipated, her performance falls short due to limited screen time and an underwritten character.
Tiger Shroff, as ACP Satya Bali, is introduced as a younger, action-oriented officer. Known for his agility and action skills, Shroff fits naturally into the role. Shroff’s potential to bring a fresh, youthful energy to the Cop Universe is squandered, as he is relegated to the sidelines without a meaningful arc or memorable moments.
Arjun Kapoor, cast as the antagonist “Danger” Lanka/Zubair, has a formidable presence and delivers a menacing aura. He is the surprise package of the film and delivers a power packed performance despite half baked writing.
Singham Again: Analysis
Singham Again strives to elevate the Cop Universe with mythological themes, but the attempt feels forced and uneven. The Ramayana parallels, casting Singham as a modern-day Rama and Zubair as the villainous Lanka, add an interesting twist but lack the depth to make a meaningful impact, leaving the story feeling superficial.
The action sequences are quintessential Rohit Shetty—explosive and grand. However, the reliance on clichés and repetitive stunts drains the novelty, turning what could be thrilling scenes into predictable displays. Overuse of slow-motion shots also detracts from the pace, making the action sequences feel drawn out.
The ensemble cast, featuring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff, creates excitement but suffers from overcrowding. Each character gets limited screen time, resulting in underdeveloped roles that fail to create strong emotional connections. This dilutes the overall impact, making the story feel scattered and unfocused.
While the visuals and technical aspects are polished, with Shetty’s usual style in full effect, the screenplay and dialogues fall short. The dialogues often feel forced, lacking the punch that characterized previous installments, while the screenplay juggles too many themes without a clear direction, making the narrative feel disjointed.
Ultimately, Singham Again is weighed down by an overly ambitious premise and poor integration of its mythological theme, resulting in a fragmented and lackluster addition to the Cop Universe.

Singham Again is a lackluster addition to the Cop Universe, failing to live up to the expectations set by its predecessors. Despite a star-studded cast and high production values, the film falters in delivering a cohesive and engaging narrative. Fans of the franchise may find some moments of nostalgia, but overall, it is a disappointing venture that does not justify its runtime.
