The advent of streaming platforms has changed the viewing habits of everyone. Now, one doesn’t need to move out of their house or wait for a week to watch their favorite film or show. Everything is available with just one click which you can enjoy in the comfort of their homes. So here is a list of some of the major OTT releases that you can binge on this weekend.
1) Tarla – Directed by Piyush Gupta, this film is based on the life of the celebrated cook and author Tarla Dalal. Huma Qureshi plays the titular role and the trailer and teaser look really promising. Huma looks uncannily like Tarla and this film should definitely be on your watch list. It will premiere on 7 July on Zee5.
2) Blind – After around five years, Sonam Kapoor is back in action with Blind. The film is a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name and stars Sonam as a cop who loses her eyesight. Despite her disability, she continues to chase a criminal. The film will premiere on 7 July on Jiocinema for free.
3) Adhura – The horror genre is still very untapped in India but things might change after Prime Video’s upcoming supernatural thriller Adhura. It stars Rasika Duggal, Ishwak Singh, and Rahul Dev in pivotal roles. With an amazing cast and a jump-scare-filled storyline, this should be on the watchlist of all horror geeks. It will release on 7 July.
4) IB 71 – Vidyut Jammwal‘s spy thriller film IB 71 is one of the most well-received films of this year. Directed by Sankalp Reddy, the film stars Vidyut (also his debut film as a producer) and Vishal Jethwa. It was released theatrically on 12 May and will be premiering on 7 July on Disney + Hotstar.
5) The Pope’s Exorcist – Based on two books, this horror film stars Russell Crowe, Daniel Zovatto, Alex Essoe, and Franco Nero. It was released on 14 April in the United States but met with mostly mixed reviews. But if you want to catch up on this interesting horror flick, wait for 7 July for it to drop on Amazon Prime Video.
