The year 2024 has been quite a ride for Bollywood, with films ranging from huge successes to absolute disappointments. The box office classification for each film is determined by its performance relative to its production cost. Some movies have soared, while others have failed to live up to expectations.
Here’s a look at how 2024’s releases fared.
All-Time Blockbusters
The year kicked off with some huge successes. Pushpa 2: The Rule (released December 5, 2024), the sequel to Pushpa: The Rise, became an instant sensation. The movie’s thrilling action and intense performances contributed to its overwhelming success, making it an All-Time Blockbuster.
Not far behind in popularity was Stree 2, released on August 15, 2024. This horror-comedy, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, raked in Rs. 627.02 crore, proving the franchise’s lasting appeal. With its mix of scares and humour, Stree 2 became one of the year’s biggest money spinners.
