Samrat Prithviraj did not take a satisfactory start on Friday and never grew to desired levels over the weekend. The film did well in smaller centres and in North India (UP, MP and Rajasthan) but was below par in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
This Akshay Kumar starrer has huge cost and recovery is impossible unless the film crosses a minimum 110-125 cr nett at box office which looks impossible at the moment. It didnt work despite lot of political patronage from the ruling party for sake of the film’s theme and its leading actor in addition to tax-free status.
On Monday morning, the film dropped and even if managed decent evening numbers, it will be tough for film to cross 5-5.50 cr nett though it needed to hold around 7 cr nett in order to have any chance at box office.

It is produced by Aditya Chopra of YRF. It will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on June 3rd.
