Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan is a content film which is high on emotions with patriotic fervour. None of the song from the film became chartbuster but good reviews can give film legs for long run.
Maidaan Had Fair 3rd Week Due To Absence Of New Releases
Maidaan managed to hold on to some sort of numbers in 3rd week due to no major new releases in last couple of weeks. Film added 8 crore nett plus in 3rd week and has crossed 45 crore nett total. Film will finish with 50 crore nett lifetime which is still a disastrous result.
Maidaan Surpasses Bade Miyan Chote Miyan In 2nd Week, Still Poor Numbers Overall
Maidaan remained low over 2nd weekend too but it’s hold was better than Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Film collected 1.51 crore nett on 2nd Friday, 2.83 crore nett on 2nd Saturday and 3.15 crore nett on 3rd Sunday. Film added 7.49 crore nett over 2nd weekend and crossed 10.39 crore nett in 2nd week.
Maidaan has total of 38.69 crore nett in 15 days. It’s a disastrous result!
Maidaan Scored Poor Week One
Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan released in paid previews from 6 pm all over. Film was riding on good reviews so expected to score better but poor advance bookings affected.
Film crossed 2.60 crore nett in paid previews and it needed massive jump over weekend with great reviews and exceptional word of mouth. But even on Eid festival, film managed poor 4.65 crore nett on day one. It’s poorest day one of Ajay Devgn after Runway 34 in recent times.
Film dropped further on day two and collected 3 crore nett. Film grew on day three which is some kind of relief and collected 5.65 crore nett. Film grew further on day four and crossed 6.52 crore nett. It collected 22.12 crore nett over weekend and that’s poor number.
Film met it’s fate on Monday day 5 with poor 1.40 crore nett followed by 1.60 crore nett on Tuesday, 1.93 crore nett on Wednesday and 1.15 crore nett on Thursday.
Maidaan has total of 28.30 crore nett and thats a disastrous result. Film will fail to cross 40 crore nett lifetime despite glowing reviews from section of media.

About Maidaan
Ajay would be essaying the role of Syed Abdul Rahim to tell the story of this unsung hero who was responsible for taking Indian football to new heights and winning accolades for the country. The team at that time comprised of illustrious players like Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram, Franco, and Arun Ghosh.
Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma and backed by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Zee Studios. The film stars Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim and will focus on India’s golden football period between 1952–1962. Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh also appear in supporting roles. The film was initially slated to release on 23 June this year but was again postponed. However, now people are hopeful that it will finally see the light of day after multiple delays.
