Film Eyeing Rs 100 Cr Mark Amid Upcoming Weekend & New Year Holiday

As a prequel to Disney’s 2019 hit The Lion King, which earned over Rs 190 crore in India, Mufasa is not expected to reach those numbers. However, it is still performing well, especially considering the post-pandemic film landscape and crowded theatres. Experts believe it could reach Rs 100 crore, especially with the New Year week ahead, which often brings in more viewers.

A major reason for Mufasa‘s success in India is the star power in its dubbed versions. Shah Rukh Khan voiced Mufasa in the Hindi version, while Mahesh Babu took on the role for the Telugu version. Their popularity has helped attract a strong audience, especially in the Hindi and Telugu-speaking regions.

Though the film faces competition from local hits like Pushpa 2 and Baby John, its steady performance suggests there’s still a demand for big-budget, family-friendly films. Mufasa‘s success in India is notable, especially since prequels have struggled recently.

With the holiday season still going strong, it will be interesting to see how the film performs over the next few weeks as it competes with other major releases.
