Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam Earns 2.5 Million Yen On Its Opening Day At The Japanese Box-Office

Ram Charan is one of the biggest superstars in the Telugu film industry. The massive success of his last film, SS Rajamouli‘s RRR, has further increased his star status. Apart from that, one of the most iconic films of his career is the 2018 period action drama Rangasthalam. During its original theatrical release, the film grossed around 216 crores at the box office, becoming one of the highest grosser of that time.

Now, the makers have released the film in Japan where it hit the theatres on 14 July in 70 screens. On its opening day, the action entertainer managed to earn 2.5 million yen, which is really impressive for an Indian film in Japan. In the coming days, the number of screens will be increased by distribution giant Spacebox if the film continues to do well.

It’s KGF vs Rangasthalam At The BO

On the same day (14 July), another massive Indian film was released in Japan. It was not one but two, Yash’s super successful KGF chapter 1 and chapter 2. Despite the tough competition, Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam started doing well in the advance booking. Last year, RRR grossed over 100 crores in Japan alone. The film went on to receive international attention, winning a Golden Globe and an Oscar.

Ram Charan’s Upcoming Films

Ram Charan will be next seen in the political action thriller Game Changer. The film is written by Karthik Subbaraj and directed by S. Shankar. Apart from RRR, he had also done Acharya last year which failed to create an impact. There have been also talks of him doing a Hollywood film.
