Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for the release of his action thriller Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrrews. The film will be released on January 31, 2025. Certified U/A by the CBFC, Deva has a runtime of 2 hours and 36 minutes.
Deva Goes Wider With 2250 Screens Across India, Targets 17,000 Ticket Sales In Final Advances
The movie will be released on 2250 screens across India by Zee Studios. Advance bookings for Deva started on Wednesday and have sold 15,500 tickets so far in the top three cinema chains – PVR Inox and Cinepolis. The film is expected to hit around 17,000 pre-sale tickets in total.
Even though the teaser received a great response, the promotional efforts have not quite matched the initial excitement. The makers did not follow up with a trailer or new songs to maintain the buzz. As a result, the opening day is expected to bring in around Rs 5.50 crore to Rs 6.50 crore, but if the film gets positive word-of-mouth, it could earn up to Rs 6 crore.
One positive factor for Deva is that the makers have not resorted to offering discounts or other tactics that could affect the box office credibility, unlike some other films this month. This gives the movie an advantage in terms of trust from the audience.
Film’s Success Heavily Depends On Audience Reception
The success of Deva will mostly depend on how well it is received in urban markets. A strong response could lead to a spike in sales over the weekend, especially with good word-of-mouth. The target for the weekend is Rs 25 crore, with hopes to maintain Rs 4 crore on Monday.
Ultimately, Deva’s performance will rely heavily on audience reactions, especially in metro cities. If the buzz picks up, the film could have a solid run at the box office.
