Yash’s Toxic has wrapped up its extended first weekend with a hefty topline across Hindi, India, and overseas, but the real story lies in how quickly the pace changed after day one. The film ended its five-day opening frame with Rs 125 crore nett from the Hindi version, Rs 228.50 crore gross in India, and Rs 266.50 crore gross worldwide, giving it a launch that looks massive on paper even as the trend raises harder questions about where it goes next.

Sharp Drops After Opening Day
There is no denying the force of the opening day number, especially in Hindi, where Toxic came out with real event-film weight. But the steep fall across the next four days has changed the early conversation around the film. Instead of celebrating a runaway holiday winner, the trade talk is now centred on whether the film can stabilise through the weekdays and turn its explosive start into a sustained run.
That question matters even more because Toxic is not just another release in the market. It is Yash’s big-screen return after a long gap, and one of the most closely watched pan-India launches of 2026.
Why Toxic Matters In Yash’s Career
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is mounted as a stylised gangster action drama and is backed by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. The film arrived carrying the weight of expectation that naturally follows Yash after K.G.F: Chapter 2, the 2022 blockbuster that turned him into one of the country’s biggest theatrical stars.
That long pause between releases gave Toxic even greater significance. Yash did not have an OTT release in the interim, which meant this film had to function both as a comeback vehicle and as the next step in his pan-India box office journey. It also arrives before his confirmed appearance in Ramayana Part 1, another major theatrical title that keeps him firmly in the centre of large-scale event cinema. Whether Toxic finds stronger legs in the coming days will now shape the way this phase of Yash’s career is remembered.
