Vijay Sethupathi’s Maharaja BEATS Baahubali 2 At China Box Office; Aims For Rs 100 Cr To Achieve Rs 200 Cr Global Collection

Maharaja has surpassed Baahubali 2 at the Chinese box office, earning Rs 76.50 crore and aiming for a Rs 100 crore finish.

Vijay Sethupathi‘s Maharaja has made a big impact at the Chinese box office, beating the lifetime earnings of Baahubali 2 in the region. The Tamil thriller has not only caught the attention of Chinese audiences but is also on track to reach new financial goals.

Since its release, Maharaja has received strong positive feedback, largely due to great word-of-mouth.

Maharaja Surpasses Lifetime Collections Of Baahubali 2 In China

While its pace has slowed after 21 days in theatres, it still earns about Rs 1 crore per day. The film’s fourth weekend is expected to give it a boost, especially with the Christmas holiday, which could attract more viewers.

Currently, Maharaja has earned Rs 76.50 crore in China, a remarkable achievement for an Indian film. For comparison, Baahubali 2 earned Rs 64 crore in China back in 2018. This means Maharaja has outperformed the hit film in the mainland, which is a major success for Vijay Sethupathi’s movie.

The film’s success suggests it could reach Rs 100 crore in China. If the trends continue, Maharaja may exceed that figure and possibly hit over Rs 200 crore globally. This highlights the growing popularity of Indian films in international markets, particularly in China, where Indian movies have struggled in the past.

Maharaja’s success is also opening doors for more Indian films in China. Its strong performance has sparked interest in the market, and many are hopeful that it signals more Indian films will be released in China in the future, possibly starting a new chapter for cross-border cinema.
