Fans excited for Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming film Metro In Dino will need to wait a little longer. Initially planned for release in September 2024, the film was then postponed to November.
But now, fresh reports suggest it won’t be arriving in cinemas this month either. The release date has now been moved to early 2025, with even more delays possible.
Anurag Basu To Reshoot Key Scenes From Metro In Dino
The latest setback is due to creative issues. Known for his perfectionist approach, Basu decided to reshoot a few scenes he wasn’t fully satisfied with.
A source from the production shared, “Anurag wasn’t completely satisfied with how some scenes shaped up, especially given the emotional complexity that is crucial to each of the intertwined stories of the film. He felt that reshooting some scenes would help the narrative and better capture the story’s essence.”
The film features a star-studded cast, including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
Metro In Dino explores the bittersweet dynamics of human relationships in today’s world. Basu explained, “Metro In Dino is a tale of the people and for the people! It has been a while since I started working on this one. The storyline is very fresh and relevant, and I look forward to collaborating with amazing artists who bring that essence of contemporary aura with them.”
The music, crafted by Pritam, aims to reflect the emotional depth of the film’s narrative. However, with more scenes set to be reshot, fans will have to wait longer to watch this ensemble drama unfold on the big screen.
Kartik Aaryan’s Next With The Director Also Delayed
Meanwhile, this delay has affected another eagerly awaited project. Kartik Aaryan’s next film with Anurag Basu, which also stars Triptii Dimri, has also been pushed back. The shooting for this film, initially set to begin soon, will now start in 2025. The exact timeline for when it will hit the floors remains uncertain.
Kartik and Triptii have already shared the screen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is currently doing well in theatres. Their upcoming collaboration had fans buzzing. But with these delays, it seems the wait will be longer for their on-screen reunion.
