Kajol continues to captivate the film industry, seamlessly transitioning from one project to the next and exploring diverse genres.
The 49-year-old actress, who recently starred as a lawyer in Disney+ Hotstar’s legal drama series The Trial, has an impressive slate of upcoming films. Her busy schedule just got even more packed with the addition of a new action film alongside Prabhu Deva.
Kajol To Reunite With Prabhu Deva After 27 Years?
According to a report from PeepingMoon.com, Kajol has signed on for an action movie co-starring Prabhu Deva. While the plot details remain under wraps, the film has already sparked significant interest in the industry.
This project marks the first time in 27 years that Kajol and Prabhu Deva will share the screen, following their collaboration in the 1997 Tamil love triangle Minsara Kanavu.
That film, which also starred Arvind Swamy, was a silver jubilee hit, running for 216 days in Chennai theatres. It was later released in Hindi as Sapnay remembered fondly for its classic song “Chanda Re.”
The yet-untitled action film is being helmed by National Award-winning Tamil director Cheran, known for critically acclaimed works such as Autograph (2004), Vetri Kodi Kattu (2000), and Thavamai Thavamirundhu (2005). A South Indian distributor is producing the film, with Jawan fame GK Vishnu serving as the cinematographer. Production has already begun and is set to resume next month in Mumbai.
Kajol Recently Wrapped Up Her First Horror Film
Kajol is diving into this new project shortly after completing her first horror film, Maa, which wrapped up production last week and is slated for a theatrical release later this year.
The Prabhu Deva film is the latest addition to Kajol’s impressive list of upcoming projects. She is also set to star in Netflix’s Do Patti alongside Kriti Sanon, and Dharma Productions’ Sarzameen with Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Prabhu Deva, meanwhile, is preparing for his role in the highly anticipated sci-fi action film The Greatest of All Time, starring Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay.
