Actor Saif Ali Khan is keeping busy with multiple exciting projects. After confirming his return to the Race franchise with Race 4, the actor is now in talks with Ramesh Taurani for a Hindi remake of the popular Telugu action-comedy Gang Leader (2019), starring Nani.
Saif Ali Khan To Hear The Narration Of Reworked Version In December
Sources close to the development revealed that Ramesh Taurani has secured the rights to adapt Gang Leader for a Hindi audience. He has already initiated discussions with Saif Ali Khan, who is reportedly interested in playing the lead role.
“Saif too has shown his interest and is awaiting to hear the reworked version of the film for Hindi. The makers are presently working to adapt the screenplay in Hindi and a narration shall take place in December,” a source shared with Pinkvilla.
Film Expected To Go on Floors In 2nd Half Of 2025
The Gang Leader remake promises to be an exciting project, with a screenplay being specially tailored for the Hindi audience. Once Saif finalises his involvement, the team will move forward with casting the antagonist and the female leads.
“While the antagonist turn requires an actor with a suave personality, the casting for female leads is challenging as the script demands actors from all age groups – from 10 years to 80 years – to come on board,” the insider added.
The plan is to begin shooting the Gang Leader remake sometime after Race 4, with a tentative start in the second half of 2025. However, these timelines could shift depending on the logistics and schedule of Race 4.
In addition to Race 4 and Gang Leader, Taurani is also producing the much-awaited film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, which will be directed by David Dhawan. Led by Varun Dhawan, the film also stars Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is expected to hit theatres on October 2, 2025.
