Allu Arjun recently opened up about his middle-class upbringing during an appearance on the talk show Unstoppable With NBK, hosted by Balakrishna on Aha.
The actor shared how his father, producer Allu Aravind, raised him and his brothers, Bobby and Allu Sirish, with a sense of discipline and modesty, despite the family’s success.

Arjun revealed that he wasn’t always spoiled as a child, and he even received an “old car” when he turned 18. He explained, “My father promised me a car when I turned 18. When the time came, he didn’t feel like buying me a new one. He bought an old car used by a friend. I pushed the car more than I drove it. Sometimes Bobby would push it while I tried to start it.”
His brother Allu Sirish added to the story, recalling how Arjun’s friends would often be surprised to learn that he lived in a “luxurious house” because his style didn’t reflect that. Arjun confessed, “I would be embarrassed to go to school in the car. I’d ask the driver to stop at the end of the road because no one else came by car.”
Arjun also shared that he and Sirish, who are close in age, often fought while sharing a room for 15 years. These candid stories painted a picture of a grounded upbringing, despite the family’s film industry ties.
Pushpa 2 Compares His Son To Ranbir Kapoor In Animal
In another segment, Arjun was asked about his son Ayaan and his thoughts on Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor. Arjun spoke highly of Ranbir, calling him one of the finest actors of his generation. “He’s just wow. He’s also my personal favourite,”
Arjun said. He went on to compare his son Ayaan to Ranbir’s character in the upcoming film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. “Ayaan is like Ranbir Kapoor in Animal,” Arjun said, adding, “He will do anything for his dad, but he won’t spare me if something goes wrong for his mom.”

As for Arjun’s professional life, he is gearing up for the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule, the highly anticipated sequel to his 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise. Set to hit theatres on December 5, the film will see Arjun reprise his iconic role as Pushpa.
Joining him in the sequel are Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, with Sreeleela also making an appearance in a special song.
