Will Allu Aravind Shoot Ghajini 2 With Aamir Khan In Hindi & Suriya In Tamil Simultaneously And Release Them On Same Day?
The buzz surrounding Ghajini 2 is electrifying. Earlier this month, reports surfaced that Aamir Khan has been in talks about a sequel to the 2008 hit, Ghajini, with producers Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena. The duo pitched a fresh idea to Aamir, who asked them to develop it further and return with a storyboard.
Well, that’s not all. Allu Aravind is also planning to create a Tamil version of Ghajini 2, starring the talented Suriya in the lead role.
Suriya Recently CONFIRMED Ghajini 2 Being Planned
During his recent conversation with Pinkvilla, Suriya confirmed these exciting developments.
He said, “Ghajini 2 was actually, surprising that you asked me now. After a long time, Allu Aravind came up with that idea (for sequel) and said if that would be possible. I said definitely sir, we can think of it. Yes, the talk has started, the things are in process. Ghajini 2 might happen.”
Makers To Shoot With Aamir Khan & Suriya At The Same Time
According to reliable sources, the producers are now considering shooting both the Hindi and Tamil versions of Ghajini 2 simultaneously. This strategy aims to avoid any issues that could arise from one version being released before the other.
A source explained, “With things going Pan India, remakes of cult films with popular stars are a thing of the past now. Both Suriya and Aamir Khan are excited by the idea of Ghajini 2 but don’t want the remake tag on their film. They are also concerned that the film arriving first will take away the novelty factor and conveyed their concerns to the producers.”
Both The Films To Release On The Same Day?
In response to the actors’ concerns, Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena have come up with a plan to film both versions within the same timeframe and release them on the same day.
The source added, “Aamir and Suriya are on board principally to the idea of simultaneous release; however, they are awaiting bound scripts before doing the paperwork. The sequel to a cult-like Ghajini is a big responsibility, as the first part has been a game-changer for both actors.”
Both Aamir and Suriya want to ensure that the sequel feels organic and isn’t just a cash grab. They’re keen to maintain the integrity of the original film. The scripting process is currently underway, and they hope to have a clearer picture of the film’s prospects by mid-2025.
Furthermore, the makers of Drishyam franchise are also exploring a similar approach. The Hindi and Malayalam producers are considering simultaneous filming to provide a unique, spoiler-free experience for viewers across both languages.
