Prime Video recently dropped the trailer for Angry Young Men, a documentary series diving deep into the lives of iconic writer-lyricist duo Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar.
The trailer features a stellar lineup of narrators, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Salman Khan, and Farhan Akhtar, each shedding light on the legendary pair’s impact on Indian cinema.
What’s In The Angry Young Men Trailer?
The trailer kicks off with Salman Khan confessing, “This is the first one where I’m actually nervous.” Farhan Akhtar adds a personal touch, saying, “The only reason I knew that my Dad wrote those films because he was my Dad.” The teaser then flashes to an unforgettable line from Bachchan’s role in Deewar, “Main aaj bhi feke hue paise nahi uthata” (Even today I don’t accept money thrown at me), underlining the iconic status of the duo’s work.
Zoya Akhtar praises the pair’s unmatched success, noting, “They did 24 films together, out of which 22 were blockbusters. It hasn’t happened before, I don’t think it will happen again.” Meanwhile, Salim Khan humorously remarks, “After watching this, Hollywood should call me and say: ‘We are short on stars.’”
Aamir Khan reflects on their legacy, stating, “Can you name a single writer today whose name alone draws the audience?” Hrithik Roshan, a friend of Farhan, chimes in, “Whoever has grown up watching their films, carries a little bit of Salim-Javed in their blood.” Karan Johar also gives a nod of appreciation, calling them the “Hottest Jodi.” The trailer concludes with Amitabh Bachchan’s tribute, saying, “Them being together was altogether a different story.”
