Netflix has reportedly removed all of Urvashi Rautela’s scenes from the Telugu action drama Daaku Maharaaj ahead of its digital debut on February 21.
The film, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, was a major theatrical success, but the sudden removal of Urvashi’s portions has left fans shocked.
Urvashi Rautela Missing From Netflix Promotions
The controversy first began when Netflix unveiled its promotional poster for Daaku Maharaaj. It featured actors like Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, and Shraddha Srinath but did not include Urvashi Rautela. Fans were quick to notice her absence, which sparked debates online.
Social media erupted with reactions questioning why an actress who played a significant role in the theatrical release was suddenly missing.
A user joked, “The best promoter of the movie isn’t even on the poster.” Another commented, “Where is Urvashi, who promoted this film more than anyone else?”
New Posters Dropped For Damage Control
After the online backlash grew, Netflix tried to address the issue by releasing additional character posters. This time, Urvashi’s photo was included twice as a corrective measure.
However, this move did little to calm fans as reports confirmed that her entire presence in the film had been erased.
While Netflix has not officially explained the decision, speculation is rife that recent controversies surrounding Urvashi may have played a role. The actress made headlines for her remarks on Saif Ali Khan’s stabbing incident, which some fans found insensitive.
During an interview, she condemned the attack but also spoke about receiving extravagant luxury gifts, including a diamond-studded watch. Her comments drew criticism & many accused her of being tone-deaf in a serious situation.
