The filming for De De Pyaar De 2 kicks off. The highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 hit De De Pyaar De has officially started production, and fans couldn’t be happier.
The first De De Pyaar De was a surprise hit, charming audiences with its unconventional love story. Ajay Devgn starred as a man in his 50s falling for a woman in her 20s, played by Rakul Preet Singh. Tabu’s portrayal of Devgn’s ex-wife added depth and complexity to the narrative. While there’s no official word on Tabu’s return for the sequel, rumours are swirling that she might reprise her role, adding to the anticipation.
De De Pyaar De 2 Begins Shooting, Anil Kapoor Attends
The announcement of the shoot was made after a traditional Mahurat Puja ceremony, marking the beginning of this new chapter. Adding to the excitement, Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor graced the event, giving the ceremonial first clap.
The first day was a grand affair with Kapoor’s presence at the Mahurat Puja ceremony, where he gave the first clap, setting a positive tone for the production.
This time around, De De Pyaar De 2 sees a change in direction. Anshul Sharma takes over from Akiv Ali, bringing fresh energy to the project. The production is being handled by a powerhouse team, with Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar from T-Series teaming up with Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg from Luv Films.

Anil Kapoor’s involvement in the sequel has generated significant buzz. Kapoor, who wasn’t part of the original film, will reportedly play the father of Rakul Preet Singh’s character. His addition promises to bring a new dynamic to the story. Kapoor and Devgn previously worked together in the 2019 comedy Total Dhamaal, making this their second collaboration.
De De Pyaar De 2 is aiming for a release on 1 May 2025. This release window strategically places it between Maharashtra Day and International Workers’ Day, making it a perfect time for a blockbuster release.
