A recent revelation suggests Allu Arjun may have played a role in the decision.
Did Allu Arjun Call Chhaava Team & Requested To Delay The Release?
At the Pushpa 2 success meet in Hyderabad, Allu Arjun expressed gratitude to his fans, director Sukumar, and the entire team. While reflecting on the film’s success, he hinted at an interesting conversation.
As per the HT report, He revealed that he personally called a Bollywood filmmaker to request a delay in their film’s release to avoid a clash with Pushpa 2. While he didn’t name the movie, fans quickly speculated that he was talking about Chhaava, which was initially set for release on December 6, 2024, but was later pushed to February 14, 2025.
Arjun recalled the discussion and said that the filmmaker was happy to accommodate his request. “When I called up one of the filmmakers from Hindi cinema, they were very accommodating and moved from that date. They said, ‘We’re all fans of Pushpa, and if you come, then we will make way for it,’” he shared.
This statement sparked speculation that Chhaava adjusted its release date to avoid competing with Pushpa 2’s box office dominance.
Pushpa 2’s Impact & Chhaava’s New Release
Arjun described Pushpa as more than just a film, calling it a five-year journey and an emotion. He dedicated its success to his fans and promised to continue making them proud. After its blockbuster run, Pushpa 2: The Rule is now streaming on Netflix.
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal’s high-budget period drama Chhaava is now set to release on February 14. The makers have not confirmed if Allu Arjun’s request directly influenced their decision, but the timing has certainly raised speculation.
