We reported yesterday that Kartik Aaryan has been ousted from Red Chillies next film Goodbye Freddy, which was to be directed by Ajay Bahl, known for Section 375 and BA Pass. It was supposed to be Kartik and Katrina’s first time on-screen pairing.
The latest is that, Ajay Bahl has taken the same film to new producers and Arjun Kapoor is being considered for the leading role. Ajay Bahl was reportedly very impressed after seeing his performance in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. The film is now being produced by T-Series and Shaailesh R Singh, who has produced Tanu Weds Manu and many more.

“It’s a romantic thriller produced by Bhushan Kumar and Shaailesh R Singh. The premise could be a love triangle with Arjun being the hero of the film who is paired alongside two heroines. Other details of the story have been kept under wraps for now, however, the idea is to take the film on floors as soon as possible,” revealed a source to Pinkvilla.
The film is reportedly set in Mumbai.
Speaking about his character, the source shared, “The character, though flamboyant, required a certain amount restraint and it’s after watching Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar that the director offered the film to Arjun. It was an instant yes from Arjun, as he loved the romantically thrilling world that an acclaimed film-maker like Ajay has created,” the source added.

Apparently, the makers are in discussion with a A-lister actress to play the lead opposite Arjun Kapoor. The film is expected to go on floors sometime this year.
