EXCLUSIVE: Kill Box Office Collection Day 5: Lakshya’s Film Registers Day 5 Equal To Day 1, Set To Cross 11.50 Crore In Week One

Karan Johar and Guneet Monga’s action thriller Kill, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt, has had a decent start at the Indian box office. Starring Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, and Tanya Maniktala, the film marks Lakshya’s debut.

The film is performing well due to its impressive action scenes and positive word-of-mouth. Kill had a solo release this week after Neeraj Pandey’s Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was postponed at the request of distributors and exhibitors. Despite facing competition from the anticipated pan-India release of Kalki 2898 ADKill showed significant growth over weekend followed by solid trending on weekdays.

Kill Receives More Admit On Day 4 Than Day 1

On its first day (Friday), Kill collected Rs 1.35 crore. By the second day (Saturday), it had increased its earnings by 60%, bringing in Rs 2.20 crore. Film again grew marginally and collected 2.70 crore nett on day 3.

This brings its three day weekend total to Rs 6.25 crore nett in India, and now weekdays hold the key for decent lifetime. 

Kill held solid 1.30 crore nett on Monday with almost no drop from day 1 Monday. Film collected 1.35 crore nett on day 5 Tuesday which is equal to day 1 Friday. Film will continue to hold solid on weekdays and will cross 11.50 crore nett in week one. 

Kill is expected to continue its solo run until next Friday, 12 July, when it will face new competition from Sudha Kongara’s Soorarai Pottru remake Sarfira, starring Akshay Kumar, and Shankar’s action epic Indian 2, featuring Kamal Haasan.

Kill has garnered attention for its intense storyline set predominantly on a train. Lionsgate Pictures has acquired its distribution rights for North America, where it premiered on over 1000 screens on July 4, coinciding with American Independence Day.

The film has received acclaim during its global festival run, particularly at the Toronto International Film Festival. Plans are also underway to adapt Killinto a Hollywood production, helmed by John Wickdirector Chad Stahelski and Lionsgate Pictures.
