Nostalgia is doing the heavy lifting again for Emraan Hashmi, and Gunmaaster G9 knows exactly how to use it. The film’s first song, Afsaana Banaaya Aapne, is now out, launching the campaign for the Aditya Datt directorial with a romance-led visual that brings Emraan Hashmi and Genelia Deshmukh together in a soft, old-school setup. Backed by music composed by Himesh Reshammiya, the track taps into a familiar mood that long-time fans of the actor’s musical era will instantly recognise.
The makers announced the release with the line, “FROM THE WORLD OF #GUNMAASTERG9 COMES AN AFSAANA OF LOVE, MUSIC AND FEELING. #AfsaanaBanaayaAapne, the first song from Gunmaaster G9, is OUT NOW. A Himesh Reshammiya Musical. In cinemas 27th November 2026.” With that, the film’s music rollout is officially underway ahead of its theatrical release on November 27, 2026.
The Song Opens With A Dialogue Hook
The video begins with a dialogue exchange designed to set up the emotional pitch of the romance. Genelia’s character says, “mat jodiye mujhse rishta mere baare mein tum kuch nahi jaante” and Emraan’s character replies, “purani jaankaariyaan to companies ko chahiye hoti hai mohabbat to apni nayi daastaan likhti hai..”
From there, the visuals move into a romantic space, with Emraan serenading Genelia’s character in a treatment that favours longing, melody and star chemistry over spectacle.
