After Salman Khan, it’s Shah Rukh Khan who has faced a death threat involving a demand for Rs 50 lakh. Mumbai Police launched an investigation after the call, reportedly made on November 5 around 8 am.
The caller identified himself as “Hindustani” and threatened to harm Shah Rukh if the money wasn’t provided. Reports say the caller even claimed to be standing outside Mannat, Shah Rukh’s famous Mumbai residence, saying, “I am calling Shah Rukh from Mannat Bandstand. If he doesn’t give me 50 lakhs, I will kill him.”
Arrested Man In Shah Rukh Death Threat Case Says His Phone Was Stolen
When Mumbai Police traced the call, they found it came from a number registered to someone in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The person told police that he had lost his phone on 2 November and had already reported it missing at a local Raipur police station.
“Someone misused my lost number and made this threat call. Mumbai police came today morning and recorded my statement. Mumbai police told me that a threat call has been made from your number. I told them I lost my mobile on November 2, and a complaint has been made at the local station,” he told CNN News18.
This has made the investigation more complex, as police now look into whether the person who stole the phone is behind the threat or if there could be a bigger plot involved.
Mumbai Police Investigates The Matter
Mumbai Police have filed a case against an unidentified person at Bandra Police Station under sections 308(4) and 351(3)(4) of the BNS. So far, no arrests have been made, and police are focusing on tracking the caller’s location and any possible links.
This threat to Shah Rukh Khan comes soon after similar threats against Salman Khan. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, involved in previous threats to Salman, recently demanded Rs 5 crore, connecting these threats to Salman’s past black buck case.
Shah Rukh has been dealing with increased security concerns, especially after receiving multiple death threats in 2023, following the success of his films Pathaan and Jawan. He has now received Y+ security, making him one of the few Bollywood stars, along with Salman Khan, to have this level of protection.
