John Abraham is not just an actor but also a fitness enthusiast. He is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Vedaa. Always committed to his fitness, John recently addressed a controversial issue—actors promoting paan masala brands. During a chat on The Ranveer Show podcast, John firmly expressed his opposition to endorsing such products.
John Abraham Says He Will Never Endorse Paan-Masala
John made it clear that while he respects his fellow actors, he could never endorse a paan masala brand. “I love my actor friends, and this isn’t about disrespecting anyone, but I have to be true to myself,” John explained.
He emphasised that, for him, it’s a matter of principle. “I will not sell death,” he declared.
He then revealed a shocking fact about the paan masala industry, mentioning that it has a yearly turnover of Rs 45,000 crore. John pointed out that this massive figure indicates government support, which is why the product remains legal.
Vedaa Star Slams Actors Justifying Their Endorsements
The actor also criticised those who try to justify their endorsements by claiming they are selling ‘elaichi’ (cardamom) and not tobacco. “You’re selling death. How can you live with it?” he questioned.
John further discussed the importance of authenticity, saying he cannot live with two different images of himself. He believes in practising what he preaches and made it clear that he won’t be like those who promote a healthy lifestyle but then endorse harmful products.
John stressed the significance of honesty in his life, stating that if he practices what he preaches, then he considers himself a role model. He also added that people can easily spot when someone is being fake, and he refuses to present a false version of himself to the public.
John Promises A POWERFUL Story With Vedaa
Talking about his upcoming film, John expressed his excitement for Vedaa. “I am excited to be part of a film like Vedaa,” he said, adding that the story is powerful and will inspire audiences to stand up for what is right.
Vedaa marks John’s reunion with director Nikkhil Advani, following their successful collaboration on Batla House. The film also stars Sharvari, Tamannaah Bhatia, Mahadev Singh Lakhawat, and Kapil Nirmal, among others. Produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment, Vedaa is set to release on Independence Day, August 15.
