Jaaved Jaaferi recently reflected on Shah Rukh Khan‘s rise to superstardom, sharing some key insights into SRK’s iconic style. Speaking about their experience together during the filming of Oh Darling Yeh Hai India in 1995, Jaaved mentioned that even before Shah Rukh became a household name, he already had a clear vision of what it took to stand out.
“He’s a very intelligent guy. He knew exactly where he wanted to be,” Jaaved shared in an interview with MensXP.
Shah Rukh’s distinctive approach to stardom became evident in a conversation with Jaaved on the importance of having a unique style as an actor.
Here’s What Shah Rukh Khan Said To Jaaved Jaaferi
SRK had told him, “To be a star, you need a certain style. A thing that’s your own.” Jaaved explained how SRK embraced this idea and turned it into his signature. “People might mock it, but he made it his trademark,” he added.
Jaaved also mimicked iconic actors like Shatrughan Sinha, Dev Anand, and Amitabh Bachchan, emphasising that each had a recognisable style. When he mimicked Shah Rukh Khan, he noted, “Shah Rukh is the only one from this generation who has a style that everyone identifies.”
Actor Acknowledges Salman & Aamir’s Stardom BUT Crowns SRK’s Unique Style
In comparison, Jaaved acknowledged the massive stardom of Salman Khan and Aamir Khan but pointed out that Shah Rukh’s unique style has given him an undeniable edge.
“He’s got a trademark on it,” Jaaved said, pointing out how SRK’s distinct aura sets him apart from other actors.

Shah Rukh Khan: Work Front
As for Shah Rukh Khan’s film projects, he is preparing for the filming of King, an action-drama that also stars his daughter, Suhana Khan, and Munjya star Abhay Verma.
At the Locarno Film Festival, Shah Rukh discussed the project, revealing his excitement. “It’s an action drama, a Hindi film. I’ve wanted to do something like this for years,” SRK shared. He also mentioned how the film, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, would blend action and emotion, delivering a “cool, massy” film that fans can look forward to.
Shah Rukh further expressed his hopes for Indian cinema to gain global recognition, saying, “My dream isn’t just about my fame. I want an Indian film to be seen with the same kind of audience as a big Hollywood film, whether I’m part of it or not.”
Fans last saw Shah Rukh in Dunki alongside Taapsee Pannu, and they can expect more updates on King soon. While the film was initially slated to begin shooting this year, production has been pushed to January 2025 to ensure the right timing. Despite the delays, anticipation continues to build for SRK’s next big screen appearance.
