Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions recently hosted a special screening of Jigra for the film’s team and industry friends after announcing that there wouldn’t be any media previews.
The event held for the cast and industry insiders saw some of Bollywood’s familiar faces appearing. It has created a buzz ahead of the film’s release this Friday, October 11.
Celebs Attend Jigra Special Screening In Mumbai
Leading the evening, of course, was Jigra’s star Alia Bhatt. She arrived at the screening with her sister, Shaheen Bhatt, looking thrilled to share this moment.
The sisters posed for the cameras showing their excitement as film’s co-producers. Alia’s production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions, teamed up with Dharma for Jigra, marking their second collaboration after the success of Darlings in 2022, which was released on Netflix.
Karan Johar, who has been a significant figure in Alia’s career since her debut in Student of the Year (2012), was also present. The director-producer happily posed for the paparazzi. It was clear from his interactions that he was proud of the project, which is expected to draw major attention from both critics and audiences.
Other notable faces spotted at the event included Vedang Raina, who plays Alia’s on-screen brother in the film. Vedang turned heads with his statement sweatshirt that cheekily highlighted the film’s connection to director Vasan Bala.
For those familiar with Bala’s previous works, like Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and Monica O My Darling, Jigra holds the promise of another unique cinematic experience. Vedang’s sweatshirt even featured the words, “The 4th film by Vasan Bala,” teasing the director’s fans and building more hype for the film.
Alia’s mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor, was also present to support her daughter-in-law at the event, but surprisingly, Alia’s husband, Ranbir Kapoor, was missing from the night. His Animal co-star, Rashmika Mandanna, however, made up for it by posing for the paps and joining in the festivities.
She wasn’t the only celebrity in attendance. Khushi Kapoor and Radhika Madan, who both have strong connections to Vasan Bala’s previous works, also turned up to show their support.

Jigra promises to be an intense emotional thriller, centred on the bond between a sister, played by Alia Bhatt, and her younger brother, as she fights to save him from wrongful imprisonment in a drug case.
Vasan Bala and Debashish Irengbam co-wrote the film, bringing depth to the heart-wrenching story. Alia’s best friend, Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor, and seasoned actor Manoj Pahwa also star in key roles, adding further weight to the cast.
The film’s music, composed by Achint Thakkar, is expected to deliver powerful emotions, with lyrics by Varun Grover, a favourite collaborator of Vasan Bala’s. Both had worked together on Monica O My Darling, and fans of their previous collaborations are looking forward to what Jigra has in store.
