Kanguva, the highly anticipated fantasy-action film starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani, has officially shifted its release date to November 14.
Originally set to premiere on October 10, the change aims to avoid a clash with the upcoming Rajinikanth film Vettaiyan, which is launching for Dasara.
Kanguva Makers Reveal New Release Date
The announcement was made by the film’s producers, Studio Green, via X (formerly Twitter).

This date coincides with Children’s Day, making it a treat for younger audiences, although some fans were hoping for a Diwali release.
One user remarked, “Good… expected one…Hoping they would start their promotions sooner and release glimpses of other characters apart from Historical portions.”
Another noted the significance of avoiding competition with major stars during the festival season.
Kanguva has been a long time coming. Initially announced in 2019, the project faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic but was revived in 2022. After extensive filming, the project finally wrapped up in 2024.
About Kanguva
In Kanguva, Suriya plays both a warrior tribesman and a contemporary man. The film’s teaser has hinted at intense action sequences, particularly the epic battles between Suriya and Bobby Deol. Despite limited plot details being revealed, the visuals promise a thrilling cinematic experience.
With a staggering budget of over Rs 350 crore, Kanguva is set to be director Siva’s most expensive film yet, surpassing previous hits like Pushpa and Singham. Shot across seven countries, the film showcases breathtaking landscapes and action sequences crafted by Hollywood experts. One of the highlights is a massive war scene featuring over 10,000 participants, elevating the film’s scale to new heights.
The cast also features Jagapathi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, and others in supporting roles.
Suriya’s Work Front
Fans have eagerly awaited Suriya’s return to the big screen, as his last full role was in the 2022 film Etharkkum Thunindhavan. Since then, he has made cameo appearances in films like Vikram and Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.
In addition to Kanguva, he is currently working on a project with Karthik Subbaraj and has produced a film starring his brother Karthi.
