Kartik Aaryan’s much-awaited Aashiqui 3 has hit a setback, as the project is now reportedly on hold. The romantic musical, directed by Anurag Basu, had created a lot of excitement when it was first announced on social media in 2022. However, sources suggest the film’s future is uncertain because of a title dispute.
The film had generated buzz, especially with Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. But now, it looks like the project is on pause. Triptii was supposed to play the lead in Anurag Basu’s love story opposite Kartik and reportedly shot a few scenes last year but has since exited the project, though the reasons for her departure are unclear.
Aashiqui 3 Postponed Indefinitely?
According to a report from Mid-Day, the film has been delayed due to a title dispute. A source revealed, “Aashiqui 3 is undergoing a title-related dispute. So, it has been postponed indefinitely.”
This means fans of the Aashiqui series will have to wait longer for the third instalment.
Kartik Aaryan To Begin Working On Another Love Story In Jan Or Feb
Despite this setback, there is some good news for Kartik Aaryan and Anurag Basu fans. The duo, along with producer Bhushan Kumar, have decided to move ahead with another love story.
This new project, which will also star Kartik, is expected to start filming later this month or in early February in Mumbai. An insider shared, “All three of them were keen to collaborate with one another, and they found the perfect opportunity in a love story.”
Kartik Aaryan Announced Aashiqui 3 Last Year
Kartik had teased Aashiqui 3 on Instagram in September 2022, sharing a glimpse of the film and captioning it: “Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum Aashiqui3 This one is going to be Heart-wrenching!! My First with Basu Da (sic).”
Fans were looking forward to a fresh love story following the success of the previous Aashiqui films, but now they’ll have to wait a little longer.
On the work front, Kartik Aaryan’s recent success came with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which did well at the box office. The horror-comedy, which also starred Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit Nene, was a hit with audiences and even had its digital premiere on Netflix.
