Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 emerged as one of 2024’s biggest hits. The film, which is part of the popular horror-comedy franchise, had fans flocking to cinemas.
Aaryan, who joined the franchise in its second instalment, reflected on the success of the movie and the challenges of working on franchise films in a recent interview with Man’s World India.

When asked about the benefits of working in a franchise, Kartik noted that the connection audiences already have with the films is a big advantage. This connection creates excitement as characters become iconic and develop their own fanbase, making people eager for their return.
However, he also discussed the pressure that comes with these expectations. “The biggest challenge is the pressure to meet or exceed those expectations, but I thrive on that challenge,” he said. This sense of responsibility can be overwhelming, but Aaryan sees it as an opportunity to give his best.
Reflecting on why Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 connected with so many, Kartik highlighted the balance between staying true to the essence of the franchise and introducing fresh elements.
“I believe franchises like Bhool Bhulaiyaa succeeded by staying true to its essence while introducing fresh elements. The blend of horror, comedy, and nostalgia appealed to both longtime fans and new audiences,” he shared. This mix of familiar and new aspects was a key factor in the film’s success.
Actor On Handling Failures
The actor also opened up about dealing with failures. He explained that while not every project may succeed, it’s important to learn from the experience and move forward.
He said, “As an actor, I make sure I give my best to the script and the part I have got. The rest is all in the hands of the audience, and no one can control that outcome.” He added that constructive criticism is valuable, but negativity that doesn’t help should be ignored.
Now, Kartik is keeping busy with new projects. He is set to work with renowned director Anurag Basu on an upcoming film, though details, including the title, are yet to be revealed. He also has Tu Teri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri in the pipeline.
