Unni Mukundan‘s action thriller Marco is performing well at the box office, and the makers are now focusing on the Tamil and Telugu versions to help the film reach the Rs 100 Cr target. After its Hindi release on December 20, the film has already earned good numbers, and the Tamil and Telugu versions are expected to do the same.
Directed by Haneef Adeni, Marco had a successful release in Malayalam during Christmas, earning Rs 34 Cr from India, including the original and Hindi-dubbed versions. The total worldwide earnings are expected to reach Rs 70 Cr, which is impressive considering the film’s budget of Rs 30 Cr.
Marco Makers Announce Tamil & Telugu Language Release After Hindi Version’s Sucess
The Hindi version has done particularly well in North India, where it went from 34 shows to over 600 in just one week. To continue the momentum, the Tamil version will be released in Tamil Nadu on January 3, 2025. The Hindi version will also expand further, with screenings starting in GCC countries on January 1, 2025.
Additionally, the Telugu version, which was sold for Rs 3 Cr along with a share of the profits, will be released in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on New Year’s Day. With no major competition in the coming weeks and poor reviews for Baby John, Marco is expected to perform well, especially in North India.
Unni Mukundan Starrer Amis To Surpass Rs 100 Cr Soon
The release of multiple versions in different languages is aimed at building on the film’s early success and reaching a wider audience. If it continues to perform well in these markets, Marco could easily surpass the Rs 100 Cr mark.
With exciting action sequences and a star-studded cast, Marco has the potential to become one of the biggest hits of the year. The film’s success in multiple languages shows the growing demand for films that can appeal to audiences across different regions.
Produced by Umesh KR Bansal of Zee Studios and Sonali Sood of Shakti Sagar Productions, Marco’s success, moving from a regional Malayalam film to a pan-Indian hit, could set a new standard for multilingual films.
Whether it will reach the Rs 100 Cr club is yet to be seen, but with its current performance, it seems well on its way.
