As 2024 nears its end, filmmaker Karan Johar is reflecting on the huge success of his action film Kill, which has made a major impact both in India and around the world. The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival and hit theatres in July.
Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Kill starred Lakshya, Tanya Maniktala, and Raghav Juyal & quickly became one of the year’s most talked-about films.
Kill is being celebrated as one of the top action films of 2024. Several media outlets have ranked it among the best.

To celebrate the film’s success, Karan Johar shared his gratitude online and wrote, “As 2024 is nearing an end, it gives me an immense sense of fulfilment to look back at the journey our film – KILL, has had. Being acclaimed amongst the best films of the year, having a breakthrough right from the start in TIFF and now seeing how it has found its audience not only within India but across the seas too – it reminded me of the pure magic of movies.”

About The Film
The film tells the story of Amrit, an Indian Army commando (played by Lakshya) who falls in love with Tulika (Tanya Maniktala). Their peaceful journey is interrupted when they are trapped on a train taken over by Fani and his gang of dacoits, who start killing the passengers. Kill has been praised as one of the most violent films ever made in India, which adds to its intense appeal.
Produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, Kill has received praise not only for its action but also for its bold storytelling. Karan Johar, along with Apoorva Mehta from Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain from Sikhya Entertainment, played key roles in bringing the film to life.
Last month, Johar confirmed that a sequel is already in the works, but kept the details under wraps, leaving fans excited for what’s to come.
